Fresh mountain air, giant evergreen trees, cold stream water splashing over rocky falls into shallow wading pools...
Hide-and-go-seek, archery practice, tetherball, volleyball, and basketball...
Playing Rock Band, roasting marshmallows over the campfire, watching butterflies, finding caterpillars...
These were the pleasures of our church's annual Family Camp in the Sequioas this year. We're never ready for camp to end, but the weekend felt especially short this year because we had only a two-day weekend instead of our usual Labor Day extended camp.
We savored every moment.

Sounds like wonderful fun!
What a special family time!! You are very blessed!
Sounds like you had loads of fun! Wish I was there...
Does your church go to camp at a different place each summer?
It looked like you had a wonderful time. Nature is so beautiful!
i love family camp! my husband and i talked our church into doing it this year, and for our first time, it was pretty good! hopefully in the future it will be more hanging out time and less structured time, but we'll take what we can get! : )
Bobbi, we go to the same camp every year, and stay in our favorite cabin! :)
Mandi, one thing we love about our camp is that it's completely unstructured except for meals and an outdoor church service Sunday morning. Each family can decide whether to stick around for fun around the campground, or to leave and explore the national park.
That sounds like fun!
